Google’s new AI is your personal finance assistant

As announced on August 8, Google is quietly putting AI to work inside Google Finance and that could help you build a smarter portfolio with less finger-twiddling. Google is currently testing a version of Google Finance that answers your money questions in plain English, complete with online links for fact-checking and digging deeper.

For folks who are just starting out, this is great news.

Want to compare performance, average a stock’s moving envelope, or eyeball candlestick charts so you aren’t just guessing at trends? The new Finance throws in advanced charting tools to help you actually see what’s happening, not just read a number.

More importantly, Google Finance AI is at your fingertips on your desktop, Chromebook or Pixel device.

It doesn’t stop there. Crypto, commodities, all the usual suspects, as well as some surprise extras, are on the menu. It’s served with a real-time news feed that keeps you up to date with market whispers as they happen.

So, how could this help you stack up your investments? First of all, if you’re already tracking a portfolio, you can now ask questions like “How did my tech picks perform this month?” and get a quick answer. Google Finance AI also includes a chart that tells the real story.

It’s kind of like having a silent investment buddy who doesn’t judge your “should-have-bought-Tesla-last-year” screengrabs. Efficiency meets learning with the new AI-driven Google Finance. It’ll give you insights and visuals to help you spot winners and avoid obvious losers. No more endless Googling and trying to make sense out of charts that look like spaghetti.

The tone isn’t a hyped sales pitch. In fact, it’s practical investing tools that actually speak human and give you the visuals to back it up. If you’re already investing, this saves you time. If you’re thinking about it, this could lower the intimidation factor and that’s half the battle.

Here’s to making smarter decisions with less jargon and more charts that actually make sense.
